Harvard Comes Up Short in Beanpot Championship By JP VIEIRA   After convincingly defeating the Boston College Eagles 4-1 on Tuesday, February 5th, the Harvard women’s hockey hosted the Beanpot Championship Game in which they played the Boston University Terriers. History was on our side as Harvard was previously 18-3-1 in Beanpot games against the Terriers. Harvard fans expected an exciting game as the Crimson were on a 5-game win-streak and BU was undefeated in their last 10. Harvard Defeats BC 4-1 in Beanpot Semi-Finals

Harvard Defeats BC 4-1 in Beanpot Semi-Finals By JILLY CRONIN On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, the Women’s Hockey Team took on the Boston College in the semi-finals for this year’s Beanpot. BC’s Makenna Newkirk (#10) stole the first goal at 19:18, earning the Eagles a 1-0 lead going into the second period. The Crimson quickly adjusted their play, with the Crimson’s Brooke Jovanovich ’21 (#2) and Dominique Petrie ’22 (#5) scoring goals at 8:10 and 13:44, respectively. Varsity Hockey takes Arizona. As we stepped off our plane in Phoenix, AZ, all of us on the hockey team wondered exactly how we would meet the expectations surrounding us. We had traveled thousands of miles away from the hockey hotbed of New England to play against a new Division 1 program at Arizona State, and tackle our first two games of the regular season.
