By SEGAN HELLE   Sexual Health Education and Advocacy Throughout Harvard (SHEATH) will kick off its seventh annual Harvard Sex Week with its first event this Sunday, the 28th at 4 PM. This year’s Sex Week will encompass a total of thirteen different events geared towards increasing education and decreasing stigmatization over sexual relationships in college. These events will be spread over the course of eight consecutive days, hosted in various classrooms within Sever, Emerson, and Harvard Hall.   Sex Week is a series of workshops, lectures, and discussions centered around sexuality, sexual health, gender, and relationships. Protests Continue In Support of Former UHS Employee Mayli Shing

By Segan Helle   Last Friday, October 5, protests continued in support of former Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) employee Mayli Shing who has brought allegations of wrongful termination and sexual and racial harassment against her supervisor. This protest, which was staged at the newly opened Smith Campus Center, marked the fourth rally since Shing was terminated by the University. Shing and her supporters are calling for the University to rehire her at HUHS.   Shing, who is a member of the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers (HUCTW), is being supported by members of the Harvard No Layoffs …

Kavanaugh Resigns From HLS Lectureship

By Segan Helle According to an email sent to students at Harvard Law School (HLS) on Monday evening, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh will not be returning to his position as a lecturer in January 2019. In the email, Dean Catherine Claypoole announced that Kavanaugh informed HLS that he could “no longer commit to teaching his course.” The official reason that Kavanaugh has decided not to return has not been confirmed.   This announcement follows a larger student movement at both HLS and the College calling for Harvard to rescind his lectureship. Unions and Students Stand With Mayli Shing

Workers and students protest after UHS employee complains of harassment and is terminated By SEGAN HELLE   Students and union members protested in front of the Smith Campus Center on February 15 in response to the termination of former University Health Services (UHS) employee Mayli Shing. Shing has brought allegations of discrimination and unjust termination against the University, believing that she was taken off of payroll in retaliation for complaints she filed against her former supervisor.
