If You’re Reading This Its Appreciated

BY ANDREW ADLER A Review of Drake’s surprise album. In a handwritten note displayed on the OVO website, Drake announces his latest release to a family of Drake associates, among them, various Toronto producers, childhood friends, and Nicole, a woman who apparently used to visit him back when he was still living in his mom’s basement. He wonders how her kid is doing. Mixtape, album, stopgap project, whatever you want to call “If You’re Reading This Its Too Late,” this project is conspicuously meant more for the people smokin’ in the condo, less for the raucous arenas or college parties, …

A Super Duper Bowl

BY ANDREW ADLER The Indy recaps Super Bowl XLIX. What a game! Was Super Bowl XLIX better than the previous XLVII Super Bowls? I think so. Here a few of my many takeaways from the showdown in Glendale, Arizona. Some players probably won’t get the recognition they deserve. Extra points don’t come easy especially during the Super Bowl, but Patriots placekicker Stephen Gostowski, managed to make four out of four field goals. That’s incredible! Great work Stephen. Watch Party

BY ANDREW ADLER Stop recording the fucking concert. Kindly stop doing it. Instead of capturing a moment for later enjoyment, enjoy the moment, now, while it’s happening. Look, I love watching recordings of live performances from my favorite artists, but only when these recordings are done by professionals. If a professionally recorded live performance of your favorite song isn’t on Youtube, it’s not there for a reason. The artist didn’t want it publicly released. Have you ever searched for a live performance of a song only to find some grainy, nausea-inducing video taken by someone surrounded by people who won’t …

Off Field

BY ANDREW ADLER A Snapshot into Harvard Football’s Fan Section This past Friday the Crimson football squad opened their 2014 campaign with a decisive win over Holy Cross. Though I was only on hand for the first forty-five minutes or so of this important game, I enjoyed each of those minutes tremendously. I can’t think of a Harvard football game I’ve enjoyed more since I started college. On the way to the game, my roommates and I stopped at the DAPA tailgate. With the two lawn games and pizza, it felt more like a hastily prepared middle school birthday party …
